The other day, Ekemona was playing with his toys and places his plush book on his head like a hat.

Hahaha He thought he was being funny and you can see his little lips trying not to curl. Fair to say, I agree with him and thought he was pretty dang funny!!

I love seeing how he keeps finding ways to express himself and his personality.

History of Hip Hop/Shiz _____ Says

Viral Friday...but it's Saturday. McKinley forgot to do one yesterday, so she told me to throw a few videos on here. You've probably seen most of these before, but if you haven't, then you're in for a treat.

This first one is from Late Night Jimmy Fallon a while back. Him and Justin Timberlake (JT) did this History of Hip Hop performance one show, then they did another. This video is the second one they did. I was impressed. YouTube the first one they did if you have time...it's pretty good too.

So I'm sure you been seeing the trends of Shiz ____ Say the past few weeks. Here are a few. We're gonna bring back Stephen Jones for Shiz Mormons Say. The dude is pretty hilarious.



Mormons. Haha. I love it when he yells, "Holy Hannah Montana" and "Hellen Keller."

For this last one, I'm just gonna post a link to YouTube. Don't feel obligated to watch it. It's Shiz Filipino Moms Say. I realize that a bunch of you won't fully get the humor in it, but it's hilarious. If you were not blessed enough to be raised by a Filipino mother, I highly suggest you find one of your Filipino buddies and show this to them if they haven't seen it already. They'll be rolling on the floor.

Growing Pains: Confession #1

Remember in 1993 when Free Willy was released and Michael Jackson made this amazing song to go along with the film? 

Yes, this movie is all I thought about for the whole year after I saw it, and yes, I knew every word to that MJ song, and yes, I thought if I posed magically like this kid on a pier of rocks, the world's most loving and social whale would breach up out of the water and, by chance of all physics, just baaaaaaaaaaaarely missing me and then would return safely back into the deep... not shallow, sea water!! 

But this isn't the embarrassing part that I wanted to share with you. It is was when my 6-year-old self felt the need to do something about these innocent whales who were endangered. I indeed wrote down and even memorized the 1-800 number from the ad that was placed in the movie before the film started. The ad simply explained that we needed to come together to save the whales and that we were the only ones who could make a change. Naturally, I was emotional and I felt the sense of urgency to do my part.... I called not once, not twice, not even five times... I called so many times I lost track. I remember calling from my phone, my friend's phones, pay phones, and mostly the pay phones at the airports {that one is my most vivid memory of them all and yes we flew a lot... every other weekend}!!

What did I accomplish from calling? I have no freaking idea!!! All I know is every time I called I felt like I had to be sneaky about it because I wasn't 18 years old, I wasn't even half the age.  I remember the person on the other line always asking, "Are your parents there?" and that was my cue to hang up the phone and walk away nonchalantly like nothing ever even happened. {Which by the way I did the same thing to a psychic number at a friends house, and her mother was not please to say the least!!}

If movie producers want to make a change for the better good of a species, I would strongly encourage them to not use children to try and convince the phone operator that their imaginary credit card in fact would work with the 3 digits she would give them. A 6-year-old little brain cannot comprehend how this fake number will or will not help animals just like Willy... all she can understand is she needs to call to do her part. 

It's still my dream to do so many wonderful fantastic things with animals... one of which is this...

Boyfriends and Girlfriends

This is a post of Friends vs. Love... Can men and women truly be "just friends?" This is the endless question that most philosophers have yet to come to a conclusion. Debaters near and far share their difference here in this video...




Many of you have already seen the video above, it was plastered all over Facebook!!! Many people disagree with this theory and feel like it wasn't diverse enough. Well, leave it to the BYU Old Spice Commercial Genius to prove you ALL WRONG!!! He is legit, too legit to quit.... he isn't bias, he gets the real answers so you now can sleep at night! The unsolved answers have been revealed here in this short clip below.

Hidden Language

My friend Rachel posted this on Facebook and I thought it was so amazing that I had to share it with all who read this blog and everyone I know.

This woman has an amazing talent, and it is exactly the opposite of my learning disability. I find it quite astonishing, actually. She has this amazing talent to be able to memorize every noise she ever hears and with that she has been able to detect what babies are really saying. She said this is only effective for babies from the age of 0-3 months because at 4 months babies' reflexes change. So, not only has she been able to list out all the noises, but the reason why the babies make these noises and how they are biologically designed to make that certain noise. AMAZING!!!



I know this is a longer video to watch, but if you have the time to watch it I don't think you'll regret it.

I strongly and personally believe that mothers have this amazing innate ability to read her child whether that be physically, verbally, or divinely, and I think this woman has been able to pin point exactly how mothers are able to do this even if we do it in our own different way. I am not saying every mother can do this... trust me, I am the one who can barely understand my own native language. Hearing the differences between these cries is like asking a blind man to differentiate between different shades of red. I am just saying how I believe mothers can memorize their child's ability to communicate and that children do in fact have tendencies or patterns to let us know what they want.  I love this and hope that it can serve many people who have not seen it yet.

Unimaginable Intelligence

This was shared with me by an old friend back from California. I can't believe it has taken this long for me to finally see it since this story was aired over a year ago. It truly is moving and inspirational! As I was wiping the tears away, I wanted in all my power to share this with everyone I know {even if that meant everyone had already seen it}.

This is a story about a beautiful teenage girl with severe autism who has this amazing and profound talent to communicate. It was interesting how it started; her parents first thought was a "this is a fluke" and continued to push her to confirm if she was doing this intentionally. Through hard work and much love, she has been able to feel a sense of accomplishment and empowerment through this new ability to communicate. The words she writes are so poetic and she can articulate and explain things in ways that help many people understand why children with Autism or any other developmental delays act the way they do.

I can only imagine what it would be like to be in her body - the frustration, pains, and desires of wanting a "normal life." I love how she is able to pull you in and tell you for herself, when many people didn't even know it was possible for her to write and spell. It is a way for us to see her full personality and it is so beautiful!!!



I love how she asks the interviewer if his teenage son is cute! Ahahhaah ohhh that is so so so cute!

Carly, you are my hero!! What a brave and strong intellect you posses. I hope one day that our little Lily will be able to see you as a strong example while she pushes and strives to meet her fullest potential!! Heck, maybe one day you and Lily can be pen pals.... or maybe even BFF's!?!? Thanks for proving the doctors wrong and giving hope to everyone all around the world! I know Lily will be able to do the same.

Grandma+Usher = AWESOME

Owl Always Love You

On Saturday, I threw a baby shower for our friend. Her nursery has an owl theme, so that is what I went with for her party. Two years ago, Gian and I made this owl where we made her recording say "Owl always love you!" It was a perfect phrase to add to the owl theme shower.

 These invitations took me 3 days to do!! But they look good right?

 My friend, Nicole, made the cake. It was a strawberry lemonade flavored... so so so good!

Wisdom Teeth

I know I am late on this post... but you have no idea how busy this week has been for me. Better late then never right? Here is last week's Viral Friday. I was literally in tears laughing!!! Aaaa-freaking-mazing!!! This kid makes me want to get whatever drugs he is on, "What's the street name for this?" Just like Amy Pohler from Baby Mama. Seriously, I didn't know people are seriously like this!!!
