Ninja Bear

.::Viral Friday::.

It'z Aloha Friday... no work 'til Monday!!!! I remember singing this in school, getting so excited, watching the clock tick down until we were free!!! So happy Friday everybody, hope it is a great day for you.

Have I ever told you about my love for animals? Well let me just say I secretly wish I was a zookeeper or worked at Sea World. So when I saw this I knew I had to share it with you. Have you ever wished King Fu Panda was real.... I proudly introduce to you the Ninja Bear. He lives in a zoo in Japan and is an Asiatic Black Bear. This black beauty has serious nunchuck skills, I do not want to be stuck in an alley with this guy! I mean, this bear lives up to his full Asianess... what do I mean by that?!?! Well let's just say they have competitions for this stuff and this Pooh Bear makes all the other kids jealous!!!

DID YOU SEE HIM THROW THE STICK UP IN THE AAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRR?!?! THEN CATCH IT?!?! I mean how did he learn this stuff?

They said he was rescued after his mother was captured and hunted and he has been obsessed with sticks ever since he entered the zoo as a cub. These bears are known for climbing and breaking off branches of trees, and they aren't sure if the bear is doing it for fun or out of boardem. If you ask me he is highly intelligent and loves the attention he is getting from all those who come and visit. Look at the fuzzy guy, he full on has an audience and doesn't ever try to hide his baton twirling skills in a place where no one will find him. I am in love!!! This is one amazing creature!

THANK YOU, COME AGAIN!!!
Aloooooooooooooooooooohaaaa!

Let Them Eat Cake

I have a friend, Nicole, who has recently discovered a hidden talent of hers, which is decorating lovely cakes. She has also done anniversary cakes and offered to do one for me and Gian as a gift. I was honored! She seriously is so so so sweet.

The best part is she did a funfetti cake with butter cream, which is Gian's favorite.... which was also the top layer of our wedding cake, that I, reluctantly, saved and cut into for our first anniversary, which was gross and freezer bitten, which is why I didn't want to do it in the first place. I felt like this was special because we were able to re-live our cake, new and fresh and delicious and beautiful!!! Didn't she do a lovely job? I love the lilies on top and the brown ribbon and painted detail!!!

Thank you again Nicole!! http://mmmcakeco.blogspot.com/

Growth Spurt

Last night as I was getting Ekemona into his PJ's and ready for bed. I notices that his PJ's seemed to be stretching to the last thread and I thought to myself, "Ohhh these are getting REALLY small. This might be the last time he wears them." With in just a few minutes this is what happens...

Does this photo remind anyone else of this?

Two thumbs up!!! The sad thing is these holes are not in the seam, nope in the actual fabric!! hahahah All week I was saying he must be going through a growth spurt because he was a bottomless pit and was eating like I never even fed him. WELP.... Here is the proof hahahahah!!! I literally love this kid from head to toe!!!

9.19.09

Let me first off tell you that before I ever met Gian I knew I was going to marry him. I was getting ready for our first date, I was all giddy and anxious. My roommate, Amber, looked at me and asked, "Are you excited?" I replied, "Yes, I am!!! And I need to prepare myself for the worst because this blind date may totally suck." Even after I said that I found myself saying these thoughts in my head, "I am going to marry him. STOP IT!!!! You don't even know him, this could end up being the worst date imaginable." After a majority of our date being over, Gian and I talked about our lives and again the stray little thought ended up in my head, "I know I am going to fall in love with him." From that day on, we spent every single day together. We didn't miss one beat and I feel like we connected on a level that was indescribable, which is why it went as fast as it did. I felt like I had known Gian my entire life, like we were old kindred spirits who had traveled across the world a few several times. Everything was comfortable and familiar.

Two years ago today I was waking up to get ready for the happiest day of my life. My parents, me, and Gian were all pilled in the car driving to the LDS Salt Lake City Temple. I was carrying my dress, my hair and make up was all done, and I had the most peaceful and happy feeling. As we walked through the doors the people working were very confused, they had a hard time believing that Gian and I were the ones getting married. They thought we were siblings and my parents were the ones getting married. Hahhahaha Gian and I laughed and tried convincing them that, once more, we were the bride and groom. Because we understood that we looked like teenagers, it wasn't the first time for the confusion.

will never forget the emotions I had that day. I was so in love and excited about starting this grand adventure with each other; I was utterly happy and it bursted through my countenance. I thought I was going to cry like a fire hose and ruin my make-up for good, but I was all smiles. I felt so calm and peaceful... serene, that nothing could get the water works going. This was not like me, I am usually more emotional then that. Looking at Gian and holding his hand over the alter I knew that my life would always be this wonderful and peaceful... and it really has been!!!

From the day we met, our lives have been on the fast track. In just two short years our lives have changed upside down, backwards, and inside out. At times it has been emotionally draining and challenging to figure out were we take that next step, but doing it all together with Gian is what has made it amazing. I am happier then I had ever dreamt I could be, and I am so thankful to have a wonderful man to be my eternal companion. I literally married the man of my dreams, and I feel like I am in a story book living the dream of a fairy tale princess! Thank you Gian for making me the happiest girl I know!!! I love you for always and forever!

Viral Friday

Looks like I'll be doing Viral Friday again this week. McKinley is currently preparing something awesome, so she asked me to try and post another cool video.

I found this video earlier this week. It's somewhere in Osaka...my people know what's up! This is definitely the coolest fountain I've ever seen. Gotta love how excited the kids get while they're watching it.

Bam! Hope you enjoyed that. Have an awesome weekend. Don't worry, McKinley has some pretty sweet posts coming up for next week. Later.

Thank You Very Much Mr. Roboto

Disclaimer: I am sorry I have been MIA. I just feel like I have a writer's block. If I haven't stopped by to say hello on your blog, just know it is because I am in a weird blogging rut. For that I am sorry for being lame!!!

The other day I put Ekemona in these robot PJ's. I think they are pretty sweet, don't you?!? Ekemona has been doing all sorts of tricks. He has been signing and saying, "mama," he has been signing "milk" which also stands for cereal, hungry, more, and eat. He has been walking.... ahhhhhhhhh it is crazy, after hanging out with Diana, who's daughter, Olivia, is 3 months older then Eke, he felt inspired and took 7 steps. I am sure he was just trying to impress O ahahha, but I almost bursted into tears of joy. He is climbing up stairs and making a fishy face. I just can't believe how much he is growing. I am constantly in awww with this little man.

 Love his pouty lips
 The Filipino squat
 Him walking ahhaha blurry I know... sorry
 Devouring my eyelashes. It really hurt!
 And I give to you... the downward dog!!! hahaha
 He will even say hi and wave when he sees you through his legs hahaha
Eke just loves to see the world upside down.
This is his favorite game to play with me.

It Was Close, But For Others Real

It was September 11, 2001 and I was 14 years old and getting up early in the morning for scripture study before school started. At the time we were still living in Alamo, CA, a small suburb 45 minutes east of San Francisco. I kissed my dad goodbye while he was getting ready to leave for his trip to New York. He was having a business dinner on top of the World Trade Center that same night. Me and my sister rushed out the door and scattered away to an hour of scripture study. I walk into class around 5:50am when I hear a guy my same age say, "A plane flew into the Trade Center." It seemed like none of us could focus or had any idea what really was happening. At the time I had no idea what a "train center" was, I thought that meant the subway. When he said "Trade Center" I perceived it as "train center." I didn't know the importance of what was happening. I came home to see my dad's bags packed, he was standing in the living room with the TV on and dressed in a suit. I looked at him and said, "Dad why haven't you left yet, you are going to miss your flight." He turned around and very calmly said, "There was a terrorist attack in New York, I'm not going."  I had no idea what anyone was talking about, nothing made sense... I thought there was a "tourist attack" and that a plane accidently flew into the "train center." It wasn't until I saw the actual footage on the news when it all connected and made sense.

I was replaying this in my head the other day while my dad was again getting ready to fly back to New York City. My heart started to swell with gratitude that my dad was not in New York during the attacks. I was grateful he had dinner plans not lunch plans, that he wasn't anywhere close to leaving the house, and that there were was the time zones that separated Alamo, CA from New York, NY. The news was able to broadcast fast enough for my dad to hear the news before boarding a plane. I am so utterly thankful that my dad had someone watching and protecting him that day.

My heart goes out to any of those who were involved or have lost any loved ones during the attack. I hope that today we can all find peace, love, and gratitude for one another and for the memory of what today stands for.

Where were you on 9/11? What does today mean for you?

Let Us Remember

The thought of 9/11 will bring tears to my eyes every time I think about it. This year marks the 10 year anniversary of one of the most tragic days in our nation's history. The raw emotions, the shock, and the actual events were all captured on film while most of us were in a much safer place, either watching from home, school, or work. The attacks left us traumatic and emotional with a lingering passion for those who were involved. I would personally like to thank all those who are fighting for our country, for the police and fireman who put their life on the line every single day, and for those who were on flight 93 who did everything in their power to take over the high-jackers. Thank you; thank you for your courage, strength and heroism. To me, you will always be valued and appraised.

The events that happened that day literally shook the earth. It shook our reality and taught us how to love complete strangers. It gave us a new appreciation and definition of the word hero, while having an overwhelming gratitude for those who sacrificed their lives. It showed us how to come together as a nation and unite as one.

For these reasons alone 9/11 should never be forgotten.

Today I will give a special prayer and moment of silence to those who lost their lives or lost family members due to the attack of 9/11.
Flight 11
Flight 175
Flight 77
Flight 93
Those in the WTC
Those in the Pentagon
All firefighters, policemen, soldiers, military and other government workers

Viral Friday

So McKinley's been passed out on the couch for a couple hours now. Somehow, a few minutes ago, she rolled over and was able to utter a few words..."...video...Viral Friday"...I was like, "Huh?"...She pointed at me, so I asked her, "You want me to post one for you?"...she nodded her head, then she fell asleep again. Haha. So looks like I'll be throwing a few videos out there for you. I hope you'll enjoy these tomorrow (well...today...Friday...for you).

I saw this first video a few months ago. This dude, Jim Meskimen, is pretty impressive. He does impressions. In this video he does Shakespeare. If you recognize the actors he's imitating, he's especially impressive.

This second one I just came across a few weeks ago. Last week's Viral Friday reminded of it. This dude, Mike Tompkins, does a version of PYT by Michael Jackson. It's probably one of my favorite MJ songs. It's crazy though b/c he had to have listened to this song a million times and then record a ton of times to put this thing together.

This last one is a classic. The Grape Lady. Haha.

Gotta love the anchors' reactions after she falls. Haha. Ridiculous.

Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed these. Enjoy the day and enjoy the weekend. Peace out.

Clone

The other day I asked Gian if he thinks Ekemona looks like him and Gian replied, "No, I look at him and I don't think he looks that much like me, but I love it when people say he looks just like me." We then decided to pull up his baby pictures to see if we can see any resemblance {click on the images to get a better view}

 This is Gian's big sister Michelle - what a cutie. I think that both pictures are aprox. 6-8 months.

 Ohhh I wish Ekemona never had to get his hair cut!!! The helmet rubbed him bald in some areas, so cut it so it would be an even length again.

Gian's Mom, Noemi - isn't she beautiful? Don't mind the star... I might be over protective, but I don't even care!

 On the far right is Jerome, Gian's dad, then Noemi. Look how happy they are!!! I love them!! Did you know that Gian was born and raised devout Catholic? He joined the LDS church when we was 16 years old and is literally the only one in his entire family who is Mormon.

How is this possible? I mean how did Eke know to make the same face as his dad? Gian will never ever give me a good photo.... I mean don't get me wrong I do love that about him, but some normal smiles would be nice too once in a while. And now our children will be following in his footsteps.... goodbye family photos!!!

I don't know how I live with myself!!! Ahhahah Seriously these are the cutest babies I have ever seen... call me bias, but my heart just gets all gooey when I see these.

Do you see Gian's clone? Do you think they look that much a like? {Eke has been getting Gian's "twin" and "clone" recently}

Amateur

.::Viral Friday::.

TGIF TGIF TGIF, all I can think about is Katy Perry's song. It is Friday and I hope that you have some awesome plans for this holiday weekend.

So, I love music... I have a deep rooted passion for music and I love when people can create things - new things that are original or just freaking fantastic... or passionate, talking about you ADELE!!! Ohh, I would love to meet her.... and Andrew Lloyd Webber, that man has a brilliant brain!! Speaking of meeting famous artist, totally saw Donny Osmond at Golden Spoon this week. It was pretty cool!!

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH, sorry for the tangent!!! Well, you get how I love music, right? This kid you are about to watch, Lasse Gjertsen, has never had any education in music, he actually doesn't know how to play these instruments. He literally is just hitting each drum and piano chord separately then combines them together in a film to make a pretty freaking awesome song. Even more of a reason why I love this!!!

I love the penguin suite, his hair, the cow bell and his finishing pose on the piano at the very end!!! hahahah

Oh, and a special thank you Eric McFarland for showing this to me back in 2006. I still love love love it. I think Lasse Gjertsen is brilliant and deserves more credit for this creation. I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did/do.

THANK YOU, COME AGAIN!!!
Have a musical weekend!
